Once again on Boxing Day, Rossylongan was the venue for the clubs Christmas shoot. Calm, dry conditions made the day enjoyable for all.
Thanks to our main sponsor, Barry Mulreany, also John Begley and Peadar McGinty. Their support, as always, is much appreciated. Thanks also to Mary Muldoon, Sarah McGroary and all the catering staff.
Congratulations to Hughie OConnor who emerged winner, with Greg McGroary in second place and Kevin Muldoon third. Hard luck to Eddie OConnor who would surely have fared better had the cartridges not been damp! Or John McCafferty, had he been able to see the clays!! Or Greg McGroary if the clays had not been of the unbreakable variety!!! There is always next year!
In the Christmas Hamper Final which took place Thursday 22nd December, young Rory Buchanan defeated the experienced James Gallagher 3-1 to take his first senior title. James won the first frame but gradually Rorys nerves eased and he started putting some breaks together. In the Christmas Pool final, Jason Patterson beat Gary Harron 3-1. Well done to all the players who took part in both competitions. The Christmas draw also took place that night and the winners included Patsy McNulty who won the main hamper - and also Johnny Murphy and Mathew Mahon.
The two league teams from the club have both made steady starts to the year with the A team drawing their 3 matches and the B team winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 1. The next club competition taking place will be the Sean McCafferty Cup. The draw will be taking place in the coming weeks. The club is open every day from 7pm until 11pm - and new members are always welcome.

An experimental Donegal team under new manager Brian McIver made tough work of defeating the students of St Marys College in the first round of the Dr McKenna Cup last Sunday at Fr Tierney Park, Ballyshannon.
The Donegal manager must have had mixed emotions when his son Michael landed an early goal to put the students into a 1-2 to 0-0 lead at Ballyshannon.
The final score of 0-13 to 1-8 was a lucky escape for the Donegal boys as the sides were level at full-time, and only late points from Gavin Maguire and Christy Toye saved the day.
The largest crowd ever of 163 people were present at the Annual General Meeting of Four Masters G.A.A. Club in Doms Pier 1 on Wednesday December 28th, 2005. Secretary, Sean Dunnion Jnr. gave a very comprehensive account of all the activities in the club for the past year, while Treasurer Paul Timoney provided an excellent breakdown of the finances, with the most striking fact being that over €150,000 was required in the last twelve months to run the club, including Bord na nÓg, Ladies Board - and the continued development of Páirc Tír Chonaill.
Anthony Timoney gave his address as Chairman before stepping down from the position for Frank ODonnell to take the chair for the election of officers. Despite the large attendance, it was disappointing that some positions could not be filled and had to be left over to the first monthly meeting of the club on Monday, January 30th.
The officers elected for the coming year were President, Gerald McCauley; Vice President, Gerald Timoney; Chairman, Sean Dunnion Jnr; Vice Chairman, Frank O Donnell; Secretary, 1st Monthly Meeting; Asst. Secretary, 1st Monthly Meeting; Treasurer, Paul Timoney; Asst. Treasurer, Michael Kelly; P.R.O., Kieran Espey; Youth Officer, Enda Nolan; Insurance Officer, Joyce McMullin; Registrar, Deirdre Dillon; Oifigeach na Gaeilge, Gerry Molloy; Coaching Officer (Football), Enda Nolan; Coaching Officer (Hurling), Tommy Brennan; Senior Team Manager, John Joe OShea; Reserve Team Manager, 1st Monthly Meeting; Third Team Manager, 1st Monthly Meeting; Under 21 Team Manager, 1st Monthly Meeting; Hurling Team Manager, Tommy Brennan; Executive Committee, Donna Dunnion, Michael Kelly, Cathal McGonigle, Sean Dunnion Snr, Deborah Lacey, Paul Duncan, Marie Gorrell, Anthony Timoney.
